Almost A Year With Herne

I was going through my LiveJournal account yesterday, looking for a specific picture to share with somebody, and ran across this poem. A little over a year ago I was still struggling with Herne entering my life, and wrote this. Maybe later I’ll share more about this all.

Darkly rare and radiant
standing proud in frozen field.
Expression savagely sapient,
eyes deep and blackish steeled.
Haze hangs heavily, gray and swollen
and echoes of breath are subtly stolen,
while sight yet grows more sharply cruel
and growing panic establishes rule.
More beast than man, yet man still so
and even more than one can feel:
hard, godlike, His power flows
Do I run or humbly kneel?
